Our Spotlight On
Physical Health and Wellness
Regular exercise offers numerous benefits for both physical and mental wellness. Firstly, exercise plays a vital role in maintaining physical health. Engaging in regular physical activity helps to strengthen muscles and bones, improve cardiovascular health, and enhance overall fitness. It can also help to manage weight by burning calories and increasing metabolism. Regular exercise has been associated with a reduced risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. Additionally, exercise promotes better sleep, which is essential for overall health and wellbeing.
In addition to the physical benefits, exercise also has a positive impact on mental wellness. Physical activity stimulates the release of endorphins, often referred to as "feel-good" hormones, which can improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Regular exercise has been shown to boost self-esteem, increase cognitive function, and enhance overall mental alertness. It can also act as a stress reliever, providing a healthy outlet for negative emotions and promoting relaxation. Engaging in regular exercise can improve mental clarity, enhance memory, and contribute to a general sense of wellbeing.
Overall, incorporating regular exercise into one's routine can have significant positive effects on both physical and mental wellness, promoting a healthier and happier lifestyle.
Finance and Wellness
Well folks, knowing the difference between your income and outgoings may seem simple enough, but it’s really the best place to start – even overestimating by a few quid could blow your budget out of whack. Things that may help organise your finances.
1. Set a goal. Think about what it is that you’d like to financially achieve this year – you’re more likely to reach it if you define it.
2. Claim the benefits you’re entitled to. There may be benefits, grants or other financial support available to you – click here to see if you’re eligible for financial support.
3. Always pay your priority bills each month. It’s super important that you pay off your priority bills in full each month, as they can be quite difficult to reduce and may have further consequences if you miss a payment.
4. Make a budget (and stick to it). It might seem daunting, but it’s actually a lot easier and quicker than you may think. Creating a budget helps to create an overview of where your money is going each month and allows you to spot areas that savings could be made.
After organising the finances, let’s work on implementing some saving techniques to help our money stretch that little bit further such as grocery shopping in more economically priced stores, waiting a month to see if you really really need that new pair of trainers, checking for discount codes online, making homemade meals more instead of takeouts. Changing to a sim only deal, checking if you are on the best energy rates yearly. The list goes on to be that savvy sassy saver.

She's everywhere
While I sit in the sun and look out at the river
There she is
As I hear the soft sound of water splashing against the rocks
She's there
I walk along roadsides
I cross bridges
Cars screeching as they go by
I shop
Weaving in between people
Will I ever get used to the hustle and bustle of city life?
I don't see her anymore
Perhaps I lost her face in the crowd
Escape the madness
I climb up a hill passing trees and castles along the way
When I reach the top there, she is already waiting for me
I step to the edge
Looking down at the city
I see her again
She's everywhere
And her name is Beauty
